“Training teams of health professionals in Haiti and improving the overall care by sharing practices.”

Project is run by the University Hospital of Pointe-à-Pitre

The project

Thanks to the University hospital of Pointe-à-Pitre, 18 members of the nursing and community staff from 4 of the top of the range centers of the association REISPE of Haiti were able to update their knowledge and skills through methods such as “benchmarking” with Guadeloupe.

4 training sessions of 15 days have been set up at the University Hospital of Pointe à Pitre. Through this project and the work of REISPE, an increasing number of screenings have been made in these centers. An increasing number of PLHIV could be monitored near their home in PORT AU PRINCE.

Results

Four 15-day sessions were implemented, which allowed 4 centers to receive training at the University Hospital of Pointe-à-Pitre. Prevention tools in Haitian Creole were developed with Haitian actors in the fight against AIDS and posted on YouTube.

They are now available to community actors and caregivers in the FODA/Saint Martin and the teams of Port-au-Prince.
